President Trump arrived Thursday morning at Checkers Estate near London to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss issues including trade, commerce and defense.
Mr. Trump and his wife Victoria and another ceremony honor and bagpiper greeted Mr. Trump when he was a 16th-century estate, the Prime Minister used the Prime Minister as a rural retreat and a more informal international negotiation venue.
Mr Starmer and Mr Trump are expected to finalize a trade agreement or an “economic boom agreement” between the United States and the United Kingdom in May.
In addition, both leaders may address sensitive details related to the UK’s urging the U.S. to urge 25% of UK steel and aluminum tariffs.
“They want to see if the trade deal can be improved,” Mr. Trump told reporters on Air Force One earlier Tuesday. “We have an agreement, it’s important, and I’m helping them.”
He added: “They want to see if they can get a better deal. So we’ll talk to them.”
Mr. Trump’s meeting with Mr. Starmer comes a time when the Prime Minister was less popular in Britain, where he was fighting for political survival within the Labor Party.
In terms of foreign policy, the ongoing war in the Middle East and Ukraine is also likely to be included in the plan.
CEOs of a group of high-tech companies joined Mr. Trump on Wednesday at Windsor Castle, revealing a $42 billion technology development deal in the UK, hoping that the UK can urge the UK to repeal strict digital regulations for U.S. tech companies.
The technical delegation includes: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and company leaders.
The agreement includes new UK spending for NVIDIA and MICROSOFT and secures the “AI growth zone” in the economically struggling Northeast Britain.
Under the agreement, the UK government statement said that the UK and the US will impart resources and expertise from both countries to enable emerging technologies to bring common success to the UK and the US people.
This will include applications of artificial intelligence, nuclear and quantum technologies in areas such as life sciences, defense and space industry.
As part of the agreement, the UK and the US will unite to further use AI to allow targeted treatments and other common priorities, such as converged energy.
