Arizona may soon kill U.S. founder Charlie Kirklive and work in the state.
Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen will introduce legislation at his next meeting that will rename Interstate 202 to “Charlie Kirk Memorial Loop 202.”
“On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, history will always be seen as a dark day, fully displayed in its most authentic form,” Peterson said in a statement.

He added: “Charlie Kirk was assassinated by a cowardly terrorist and was subject to his influence. But we must move forward. Although Charlie Kirk cannot be replaced, this effort can ensure his legacy lasts.”
The Memorial Highway is not a new concept for Grand Canyon State, as the Loop 303 in Western Maricopa County is known as the late Congressman Bob Stamp Memorial Park Avenue. Loop 202 covers most of the Phoenix area Dongshan Valleyincluding Chandler, Tempe and Mesa.
Part of the loop is named after the late Democratic Rep. Ed kjzz Report 2019.

“We all have a role to play in executing Charlie’s legacy,” Peterson added. “Through the grace of God, by renaming this highway, we can ensure that His name, His mission and His gospel witnesses will last for generations.”
Arizona has become a flash point following the assassination of Charlie Kirk at the University of Utah last Wednesday as celebrations to celebrate the Life Service are scheduled to take place Sunday at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the event, with his wife Erika Kirk and President Donald Trump and Vice Presidents having speakers JD Vance.
