Tensor robocar is equipped with sensor and AI power

Tensors built this machine from scratch. It covers technology: 37 cameras, 5 custom laser shooting, 11 radars, and microphones, ultrasonics and water detectors. Each sensor contains a cleaning system to keep its view clear in any situation.

The car runs on the tensor’s own basic model, a transformer-based AI designed to mimic human driving decisions. Unlike many competitors, the system works without ongoing cloud support. This means better privacy and does not rely on remote servers.

What is the difference between Robocar and Robotaxis of tensors

Most self-employed startups, including Tensor’s early brand Autox, started with Robotaxi Fleets. These are easier to control as they operate in a city and return to the warehouse every night.

Tensors are taking a tougher path: consumer cars. This means that Robocar must adapt to highways, urban roads and reality without a safety net. Although you won’t drive on every road from the first day, the owner can control it at any time.

Tensor’s Robocar is designed for safe and luxurious driving

Tensors promise complete redundancy in steering, braking and computing. If a system fails, the backup will be taken over immediately. The interior design adds another layer of appeal. With retractable pedals and foldable steering, the cabin feels more like a living space than a driver’s seat.

The company works with Vietnamese automaker Vinfast to produce the vehicle. Pricing is still in the parcel, but executives admit it will surpass luxury electric cars Sober air.

What does this mean to you

The tensor method marks a turning point. Consumers no longer wait for the ride-hailing service to launch an autonomous fleet, but will soon be able to buy autonomy directly. If successful, this can reshape not only commuting, but how we think about owning a car.

Kurt’s key points

Tensors have history. Its Autox roots have been tested for years, including licenses to operate autonomous driving since 2020 in California. Now, rebrand and sell the first Robocar that can be used with consumers by 2026. Gambling is very big. Luxury buyers may welcome futuristic design and privacy protection, but mass adoption will depend on trust, security and real-world performance.
