In an article shared on Reddit in August, a 27-year-old woman described renting a vacation home with nine relatives, including her 24-year-old sister and her sister’s boyfriend.

Everything seemed to be fine–until one night the almost complete carton disappeared.

When the woman asked if she could replace the organic eggs, her sister promised her to make groceries.

“But she came back from the store tonight with the cheapest store brand eggs because ‘others are super expensive’,” the woman wrote.
“I told my sister that we don’t eat those eggs and she needs to return them regardless of the price. She got angry with me and said it was no big deal.”

The woman’s sister ended up back to the store, but she had to pay $10 for it Twelve eggs.
“My family has a disagreement about this,” Reddit concluded. “My husband said $10/12 of eggs is really expensive, and my mom thinks I’m overreacting. … But, my aunt agreed that my sister needs to replace what she’s taking.”
The vast majority of social media users occupy the poster’s side, and hundreds of hosts support her position.

“If she doesn’t want to spend $10 on eggs, she shouldn’t have expensive eggs,” one commented. “I bet she will bring her own next year.”
Some others pushed back, suggesting that the poster shared some blame.

“I can [bought] Cheap eggs, if you protest further, I’ll give you $10 and ignore you for the rest of your trip,” Reddit said, “Don’t let the eggs ruin a holiday. ”
“I also bought free range eggs, but in order not to create drama during family vacations, I will accept eggs without making a fuss,” one unpopular comment wrote.
“When you eat other people’s regulations, you replace them with the same quality.”
