Former Georgia Governor Candidate Stacey Abrams She appeared on CNN on Tuesday, saying the Trump administration is using the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk as an “excusation to advance authoritarian rule.”
“It’s about American authoritarianism and American democracy. If we allow ourselves to be included in this false dialogue, our risk is losing opportunities for democracy that gives us free speech. This will also invoke the rule of law to take on anyone responsible. “But we can’t let this outrageous murder be exploited as an excuse to move forward with authoritarian rule, and that’s what we’re watching.” ”
Abrams claims that the Trump administration is currently in “step 9” in the “authoritarian play script” and, according to her 10-step authoritarian framework, is “taking advantage of political violence.”
