Youtube On Tuesday, a batch of new AI tools will be launched to be used in shorts and YouTube studios, including extending its capabilities to enable people to detect AI videos using their facial similarity. The Google-owned tech giant reveals an upgrade to its creator-centric campaign, which took place on YouTube in New York.

YouTube brings a custom version of Google DeepMind’s video-generated VEO 3 to shorts, allowing users to create short vertical videos with sounds in text prompts. The company says you can try it out by clicking the Create button and then flashing the icon in the upper right corner of your shorts. The feature is now being launched in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Over the next few weeks, additional features will be rolled out to more users, including editing using AI, which converts the original footage to a first draft video, speaks to the songs and transforms the conversation from a qualified video to a soundtrack. YouTube said it will start trying out VEO features that can add motion and objects to shorts in the coming months.
A bunch of new YouTube Studio features have also been announced, such as the ability to expand similarity detection. The tool will allow people to grab and ask for the removal of unauthorized videos made with facial similarity. Currently, it can serve as an open beta for all YouTube Partner Program creators.
In the coming weeks, more YouTube Studio upgrades include AI-powered conversation chat tools, Ask Studio (US only), and the ability to add collaborators to the video and display them across all audiences (scheduled to fall around the world). YouTube says that by the end of the year, most people can use A/B test titles and new updates to the new Inspration tab, and use the Lip Sync feature to auto-investigate in limited testing.
