It can be sunny in Miami Dolphins’ 2025 season After starting 0-2.
However, a team’s legendary number hasn’t reached the Panic Button.
Professional Football Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino has been following his former team closely. In Week 2, dolphins look much better than blowout losses in Week 1 Indianapolis Coltsbut the New England Patriots still win the home opener in Miami.

Marino hit 17 NFL Season, knowing that a lot of things may happen in the next 15 games.
“I think if you ask every player on the team and they are also professionals and coaches, they’ll be disappointed with themselves 0-2,” Marino told Fox News Digital, while also highlighting his personal health struggle with MASH, a severe liver disease. “But again, I talked about it earlier, you have to stay positive.”
The history of 0-2 does not support Miami. In the past five seasons, 42 teams have started 0-2, with only five entering the playoffs, with a success rate of less than 12%.
The Dolphins entered the playoffs in 2022 and 2023, but slipped 8-9 last year. Now, the head coach Mike McDaniel has reignited responsibility in Miami Miami’s high-function offense, which in Week 2 is sharper than it looks in the opener.
Still, the question remains about how long the franchise will ride with McDaniel, especially after Hard Rock Stadium saw the sign of the sign asking for a shot. However, Marino is confident in the coach’s ability to stabilize the boat.

“I think it’s obviously a group effort. Mike is a great offensive mind. He proved that,” Marino said. “Yesterday (Sunday), like all the NFL games, to the fourth quarter. Almost everyone is like that, you have to play all four quarters. We did, we have a chance to win.
“Dolphin, if (De’von) Achane didn’t go out of the line, I really felt like we would win that game. That happened, a few mistakes happened, and the next thing you knew you lost the game. That’s why this is crucial at the end is why especially playing football without error. But Mike is a great football coach.”
In the NFL, the term “urgency” usually has only 17 games to determine the playoff chances. Marino believes that urgency is not a record about 0-2 and should exist every week.
“If you play in the NFL and you are those guys in the NFL, you have to have a sense of urgency every week whether it’s week one, week 15 or week seven,” he said. “They have it. They know that there’s a chance you can win and you can lose. You just have to find a positive way and work on that thing.”
The Dolphins prepare for AFC East rival Buffalo Bills, who start the season 2-0. Marino recalls Miami’s 30-27 loss in Buffalo last year, a game that shows the Dolphins can play the best game against the league.

Marino said this week brought another opportunity. For him, the only way forward is optimism.
“The Dolphins have another game to play in Buffalo on Thursday night. Last year, they were really tough there and they almost won the game. So, it was around us. 0-2 is something you can come back. It’s not the worst thing in the world, so I’ll say it. You know nothing about it,” he said.
