Since its first launch in February 2024 Apple Sports App A series of upgrades, additions and improvements have been made. Apple announced on Tuesday two new features for the app, including iPhoneiPad and Mac. In addition, Apple Sports is about to enter eight countries in Europe: Spain, Portugal, Austria, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland and Italy. The update arrived for most of the NFL season and weeks before the NBA and NHL kickoffs, providing fans with more ways to keep up with the latest happenings of their favorite teams and leagues.
Sports fans – and fans of the app have wanted a widget for a while now, and it’s here. Starting today, you can add two different Apple Sports widgets to your iPad, iPhone, and Mac to get scores, check the schedule of future games, or view what you missed in the previous day. The My Team feature allows you to view information about the selected team, while the My League allows you to do the same for each league you choose. You can use them without even opening the app.
During a demo session with CNET, Craig Mahonchak, Apple’s Sports Product Director, told us that my team widgets were one of his favorites, adding that they wanted the experience to be personal. “When you open the app, you should see your concern immediately,” he said. “That’s the key to our differences, and I think that’s why fans love clean designs, and now with widgets, it’s just another great way to get fans.”
Once installed, the widget will first surface the latest, important details, such as live games for the team you follow that day. In My League Tools, you can click on the widget to bring any league you want to keep up with (such as the NFL or the top 25) or newly added European Level 2 Commander 2. Bundesliga, Ligue 2, Segunda División, Serie B and Primeira Liga. The expandable view in the widget gives you live snapshots of scores, past and upcoming games, and other details, but clicking on the game will take you to the game card in the Apple Sports app. Likewise, clicking on the top of both widgets will send your home page for your specific team or league’s home page.
Newbie in sports apps can also set up real-time events for upcoming events. For example, if you want to view the game’s statistics later this week, you can pre-update from the live event feature. That’s right – you can arrange to keep up with the score on your iPhone’s lock screen, Apple Watch or Dynamic Island display.
