Nevada’s Republican Governor Joe Lombardo began his 2026 reelection campaign in a key Western battlefield state on Monday.
Lombardo is the only challenger to beat the current governor in the 2022 election when he eliminated Democratic Governor Steve Sisolak Made Nevada The only blue to red governor flipped that year.
Fast forward four years, Las Vegas’ former sheriff Lombardo anchors Clark County Republican governor Seek another term.

“I will continue to do my best to stop Gavin Newson from conquering his left-wing agenda in Nevada. As long as I am your governor, I will never accept Californians telling Nevadans what to do or make us pay for their bad ideas.”
Lombardo, speaking at Rancho High School Las VegasFour years ago, he graduated and launched his first gubernatorial campaign while also highlighting his achievements while highlighting “unfinished business” to secure the future of Nevada.

The governor touted more than 600 regulations during his tenure and said Nevada has grown at 4% annually since 2022, which he touted that it is the sixth highest state in the country to increase employment growth.
Lombardo also noted that it provided the largest investment in education in state history, signed the law, a school-option expansion bill, double-digit salary increase in law enforcement, and allocated $130 million for middle-class housing.
The Democratic Governors Association (DGA) called Lombardo the “the most vulnerable Republican governor in the United States”, which he pointed out before announcing his so-called “failure record.”

The DGA argued that Lombardo “twisted himself in an attempt to defend his disastrous agenda, which lagged behind working families and small businesses in Nevada.”
Nevada Democrats link Lombardo to the president Donald Trumpthe accusation of blasting the governor was “his embrace of Trump’s reckless policies, all of which have led to the worst-case national unemployment rate, growing housing crisis and high costs.”
