Randi Weingarten, director of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), will hold a virtual event on Tuesday to promote her new book about educators’ struggles with the “fascist regime” – less than a week after Charlie Kirk’s shocking assassination, reportedly inspired by anti-fascist ideology.

Virtual events are scheduled for Tuesday, 4pm Eastern Time According to its website, chaired by an organization called Emerge, which “recruits, trains and provides a strong network for democratic women who want to run for office.”

The event will focus on Weinding’s new book: “Why Fascists worry about it” teacher“and will include Emerge President and CEO A’Shanti F. Gholar.

Fox News Digital approached the American Federation of Teachers and showed up to ask if the event had been assassinated by Kirk or if Weingarten would resolve his death, but received no response. The promotions for this event are still active on Emerge’s website.

Weingarten’s book, which hit the bookshelf on Tuesday, elaborated on her view of what she calls fascist ideology and how it “destroys democracy, opportunity and public education.”

Kirk, who co-founded the American Turn Point (TPUSA) in 2018, was assassinated Wednesday at the TPUSA event at Utah Valley University when a shot rang out and hit a conservative political leader in the neck. Investigators said officials identified Tyler Robinson as the suspect in the case, detaining Robinson late Thursday after he admitted to the violence to his father.

Robinson, 22, was in a “special watch” state during his detention until a mental health assessment was completed.

Senior investigators told Fox News Digital that officials are also interviewing Robinson’s romantic partner, who is currently working with officials to transition to women.

Republican Utah Governor Spencer Cox told the media Friday that the suspect brought him an anti-fascist message engraved on the inscriptions on the turret he attacked, such as “Hey, Fascism! Catch it!” As investigators continued to comb through their lives, the suspect’s motivation to kill Kirk.

The American Teachers Federation condemned “political violence” after being assassinated.
