A small town in New Jersey, despite the president Donald Trump’s In honor of Charlie Kirk, to lower the flag on government buildings to half-time chips and defend his decision on Monday.

But, Madison officials wrote in a Facebook post that it is following the state’s directives.
“Last weekend, we received questions about the borough lowering the American flag. Madison’s policy is to follow the daily flag status of New Jersey,” the town said in a post. “On the weekend, the identity is ‘full-time employee’.”
“The Borough of Madison condemns all forms of political violence and rejects hatred in all forms. We remain committed to bringing people around our shared values and ideals.”
Mangold, a seven-time Pro Bowl Center and two-time All-Pro, was upset about the town’s decision.

He wrote on X: “I feel disgusted and sad about my town (Madison) and my state (New Jersey). This is wrong on many levels… because the American husband and father were assassinated for the right to express freedom of expression.”
Mangold tagged New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and two gubernatorial candidates who succeeded Murphy, state Rep. Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli.
Officials in Bergen County, New Jersey, have come under fire for the same flag decision.

Since then, several memorials and vigils have been held across the country to honor Kirk. Several NFL teams remained silent during Sunday’s game.
