Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke to reporters after the game and explained why the team decided to honor the 31-year-old.
“We’re just all the violence. It affects all of us. Of course, we’re all in any way, relative to the threat of violence. … I’m a young man, but in the 60s, when we were suffering from huge violence, he encountered huge violence and lost the president (John F. Kennedy). sports.
“It’s something we all really need to pay attention to, support our law enforcement and do our best to control violence.”

Cowboys, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and New Orleans Saints Honor Kirk Before ET ET Games begins. The Arizona Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs followed in the late afternoon.
The Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts chose not to do so.
Kirk was shot dead while speaking at an event at the University of Utah in Orem, Utah. The shooting triggered a 33-hour hunt and led to Tyler Robinson’s arrest for Friday’s incident.
