The Salt Lake City Police Bomb Squad and the Uniform Fire Department Arson/Bomb Squad found the device on the Fox 13 News Car, which was parked next to an occupied building.

Documents seen by Fox News Digital also indicate that the incident poses a major threat to public safety due to the nature of the device and its location.

Investigators traced the device to a home near Magna 2700 South and 8500 West, both suspects said to be alive.
Federal agents provided a search warrant for the property, and the Salt Lake City Bomb Squad ensured the house was safely accessed.
Inside, the officers discovered two scams of weapons of mass destruction, two guns, Bomb manufacturing equipment and illegal drugs. When authorities search the area, nearby houses must be evacuated.

In addition to the explosive material, the officers found “guns and gun-related items, illegal narcotics and electronic devices reasonably believed to contain evidence of the crime,” investigators said.

Authorities say the suspect’s actions pose a “significant risk of large-scale casualties.”
Adeeb Nasir and Adil Justice Ahemd Nasir were held in the Salt Lake County Jail.
“Fox 13 News is working closely with law enforcement and our risk management team and making the safety of our employees our top priority,” said Leona Wood, Fox 13 Station Manager.
