Kathy Bates Speculation surrounding her recent weight loss.
During an interview typeThe 77-year-old Oscar actress shot critics and her 100-pound weight loss was attributed only to Ozempic, an injectable drug that GLP-1 has traditionally targeted for diabetes but has recently been used as a weight loss drug.
“People say, ‘Well, that’s Ozim.’ f — You’re the diagnosis of diabetes, this is my sister, this is my sister. “When they say, ‘diabetic, I figured out how to lose weight slowly over the years. Then, when Ozempic comes up, I was able to lose my last 15 to 20 pounds and keep it away. ”
Bates will be the oldest person nominated for the lead role in the drama category this weekend at the Emmy Awards. In CBS restart “Matlock”, she was nominated for taking on the role of Madeline Matlock.

Speaking about the show, Bates said “it’s awesome timing,” explaining “the juxtaposition of getting healthy” and then having the opportunity to star in the show “It’s incredible.”
“People say, ‘Well, that’s Ozim.’ F — You, that’s been a lot of years.”
Despite her hard work to lose weight, Bates told Breed that she is still adapting to her new body.
“She had a nice dress to try. I looked at it on the hanger and I thought, ‘That wasn’t right.’ I put it on, it fits well, I just melted,” Bates said. “I just cried and cried. I’m still figuring out what’s going on without all the weight. What’s the purpose? What am I hiding? What’s the emotion that I’m pouring out because I don’t have that kind of armor? It really surprised me, it really shocked me.”
Bates first revealed She lost 100 pounds In an earlier interview typein September 2024, told the media that she had lost weight within six to seven years.

She said the last time she was a college student, she was at the heaviest in 2011.
“I had to sit down,” Bates recalled. “I had a hard time walking. I was ashamed, I made myself so bad, but now I have a lot of energy.”
The actress previously talked about rumors of her losing weight due to Ozes’ weight in an October 2024 interview with People magazine.
In the interview, she told the media Weight loss is “hard work”. And, after losing 80 pounds herself, she used weight loss pills to help her lose the last 20 times.

Bates told People Magazine. “But I have to impress the people there, and it’s hard work for me, especially during the pandemic. It’s hard to say you’ve had enough.”
Her desire for health is in her Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 2017.
One of the biggest changes she made was switching diets after 8pm during the interview, and she admitted: “I used to eat very badly: burgers, cookies and pizza.”

She said: “The reason I eat is because I am very scared, and the reason I eat is because it is my self-esteem.”[Diabetes] Running in my family, I saw what my father had experienced. His legs were amputated. One of my sisters dealt with it very seriously, which scared me. It scared me. ”
