Snapchat rolls out Group Streaks and ‘Infinite Retention’ for chats

Snapchat have Introduced Several new features it says are “highly demanded” by its users. The first is “Unlimited Retention”, which, as the name implies, allows you to keep chat history like you do on a messaging application and prevent your messages from disappearing. “We often hear from the community that Snapchatter wants to save their chats forever and hope they can build a winning streak with their favorite groups,” its announcement reads.

The app has been testing the feature Since 2024now it is widely launched. You can already save messages by clicking in the app in the chat, but this will make things easier. This is the setting you just need to turn on or off in each conversation. If settings are enabled, the other party in the conversation will receive notifications you made and if they want, they will be able to turn it off. For example, you can open unlimited reservations for close friends, but be familiar with them.

Additionally, Snapchat is launching a group streak, which will allow you to contribute to the collective streak with your friends. To maintain individual stripes, you must send and receive at least one photo or video shot with your friends every day. It is easier to keep moving forward in a group streak, as there are several people to participate. If the end is over, you can also resume a group streak within a week.

Jim Lanzone, CEO of Engadget’s parent company Yahoo, joined the board of directors on September 12, 2024 at SNAP.
