Public comments from military personnel ridicule conservative activists Charlie Kirk U.S. military officials said it is under investigation and will result in disciplinary action.
Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell said service personnel or civilians working in the Department of Defense are unacceptable for assassination of their fellow Americans.
Parnell posted on social media platform X on Thursday: “The Department of War has zero tolerance for this.”
President Trump signed an executive order to change the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War and authorize its highest civilian leader to be called the Secretary of War. However, the move will not be formal until Congress approved it.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared a spokesperson’s post on X, saying any anti-Kirk Comments from military and civilian personnel are “completely unacceptable”.
“We are following all of this carefully and will be resolved immediately,” Mr. Heggs wrote.

The Pentagon chief of military service also put pressure on, and Army Secretary Daniel P. Driscoll said on X that such comments “are inconsistent with Army values.
Air Force officials said they were aware of “inappropriate comments about recent political violence.”
Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said on X: “This behavior is unacceptable and contrary to our core values.
Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan realized that social media posts mocked Mr.’s death. Kirkwas shot dead while hosting an event at the University of Utah in Orem on Wednesday. The alleged assaulter was detained and identified by police as Tyler Robinson, 22, of Utah.
“I want to be very clear,” Mr. Philan posted on X. [U.S. Marine Corps] Will be handled quickly and decisively. ”
