President Donald Trump said Friday Charlie Kirk The FBI distributed videos and images of the suspect but withheld his name, captured the assassination, ending the two-day orgy.
Jason Pack, a retired FBI supervisory agent, told Fox News Digital that the strategy was intentional — designed to protect investigations and public safety — and it reflects the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing investigation.
Pack said refusing the identity of a suspect could help generate stronger public tricks by focusing on confirmed images rather than unverified names.
“Before the suspect’s name, you need biometrics, records and independent confirmation to protect the public and the case,” Pack said. “The same script we use.” Boston. Show the public what you determine to trigger a quality prompt and hold content that has not yet been applied to the court. ”

Pack said it is crucial to withhold the name before investigators have a positive ID that meets the prosecution threshold until all notification steps are processed.
this FBI During the Boston Marathon bombing investigation, the Tsar brothers were also detained in the 2020 Nashville Christmas bombing when they first learned about it through images.
“In Nashville, we have someone with an ID card and suspect him a few days ago,” Pack said. “But we wanted to make sure we passed the DNA and forensic tests, that was that person and not the person who had the stolen wallet. So we had to wait for confirmation at least initially.”

“Seam alone doesn’t define Tradecraft,” Pack said. “Some criminals choose non-fashionable shoes to blend on the sidewalk, moving quietly or misleading. This could be comfort, usability or intentional disguise. Investigators will weigh gait, wear patterns and outsole markings in any scene impression, not just branding.”

The reward numbers were not set based on rigid formulas—they were adjusted based on the level of threat to the community, the urgency of the case, and the funding provided by law enforcement and partner agencies, Pack explained.
In this case, after the high-profile political assassination, officials chose high numbers to quickly generate potential customers as a gunman followed the entire gunman.
“The enforcement pressure is very high,” Pack said. “They want to get it right.”
