Politicians on both sides of the aisle correctly condemned political violence, especially the meaningless murder of a prominent young man: Charlie Kirk.

Kirk is one of the most prominent and powerful advocates of Trump administration’s magazine policy. He is also a key contributor to the president, to a large extent Donald TrumpElection victory in 2024.

The violence – whether against Trump, Charlie Kirk, CEO, Gov. Josh Shapiro or Minnesota’s state legislator – has to stop.

It must stop immediately.

As a country we need to do more to end The trend of political violence Capture the country.

It makes me very clear: as long as I work in politics and public life, we need to lower the quantity, lower the temperature and unite.

We have to do more to achieve our common goals as a country.

Never been more real than today.

To be sure, when violence occurs, the party that blames the other party is misled. Doing so is destructive, divisive, and weakens our social structure at home and our position on a global scale.

But that’s more than that.

Trump’s rhetoric “frequently incites it”

As a nation, we have always taken pride in our ability to cooperate – yes, yes, but have faithful opposition and free debate, rather than wholesale attacks that may or will not lead to violence.

Furthermore, whether certain speech translates into violence or not, it inevitably contributes to a toxic and divided political culture that we cannot accept.

Frankly, when I heard about my party, Democratssaying they need to be more aggressive and hostile to Republicans, I say a huge problem with that – on a rhetorical and substantial basis.

The last thing we need now is the government shutdown. Although, as Ezra Klein said in the New York Times, we don’t need to fight the Trump administration just for the sake of fighting.

We need to constructively advocate for protecting social safety nets – Medicare, Medicaid, food programs and other social welfare programs – and do everything to not shut down governments, but to stay open.

Similarly, I want to say to my Republican friends that demonizing the left is wrong even if the words are inappropriate and extreme.

I condemn it and hope they can lower the voice, but I believe this country needs to – especially as of 9/11, it was a time of reconciliation.

We need to avoid entering a time like the one faced by Vietnam in the 1960s, when two of the most important leaders, Dr. Pastor. Martin Luther King Jr. Robert F. Kennedy was shot to death ruthlessly and cruelly.

Please make me very clear about what I am not doing here. I’m not going to blame the left or the right.

Despite the slightest details, I don’t know the ideology of the shooter who killed Charlie Kirk. But for me it is important to use it as a tool for attack or revenge, but as a tool for political reconciliation.

Even if we disagree with the overall immigration policy, both Democrats and Republicans can work together on closer borders.

We can agree Ukraine Even if we disagree with its exact nature and scope, support is needed. We can agree that even if Republicans disagree with what programs should be protected, we should not be protected, and we must protect the social safety net.

Most importantly, we can agree that despite both sides to the United States, the core, the Democratic Party and Republicans All want the country to succeed and prosper.

But what we cannot disagree with is our basic purpose as a country: a free-market capitalist society dedicated to improving the greater good of all Americans in a constructive and secure environment.

Hopefully, the legacy of Charlie Kirk – a proud American, a ardent advocate and the fighter he believes in – will lead to a greater cooperation and consensus that President Trump acted in his 2024 speech at his own Republican National Conference, and that he himself did in his own speech. Assassination attempt Butler, Pennsylvania.

I say this, hoping that people can see it as a leely, but as a call to action. Our country never needs more solidarity, the goal center and both sides have greater willingness to cooperate and reconcile.
