Many in the NFL world responded in mourning and destruction after the news of Kirk’s shot, including former quarterback Tim Tebow. The Heisman Trophy champion warned that “evil is real” after the shooting on the university campus.
Tebow wrote on X: “Evil is real. There is no doubt that the enemy is working hard. The weight of evil has been heavy in our country for the past few days. But I know: There will be no last words. One day, God will make everything right.

“Before that, we pray. We cry with those who cry. We keep fighting and knowing that victory has won.”

“This is not our actual situation, nor as a country. I believe that good people always outnumber evil people than evil people, but… today is a shocking day in our history.”
McAfee also talked about Kirk in Thursday’s version of ESPN’s “Pat McAfee Show”, where he reiterated that he was not someone focused on the political space, but he couldn’t help but question the shooting.
“Yesterday, whenever we saw the public execute this person, it happened in real time in all the palms of our hands… You can’t help but ask… First of all, he has a family member and he has children. On September 11, 2025, it might be the moment of September 12, 2001.”
