As law enforcement officers continued to search for the person behind Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old turning point founder, the witness described a scene where the shooting occurred on the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus.
“There aren’t a lot of policemen out there. I have more policemen at UVU than I am now,” said a witness identified as Sam, a local high school student, who told Kutff. Sam also wondered why there were no stricter safety measures, such as bag inspections before the incident.
“They had police on the sidewalk and they stopped – I think – people were throwing things from him. So, I wonder why there wasn’t anything Security level He used to stop people from moving forward before him or something like that. ” he added.
Kirk famously went to university campuses across the country to discuss politics with young people during an event at UVU Wednesday afternoon. Although those who were originally considered to be Sagittarius were detained, Authorities later determined The person has no connection to the shooting.

He recalled that once the shooting disappeared, people in the crowd began to panic and hoped for more gunfire. But once they realize they didn’t shoot, they ran away and tried to catch others to help them get out of the deadly scene.
Ryan Devries, who worked in property management and volunteered with the first responder, left the gun in his car before attending Kirk’s event and was expecting the metal detector. He told the Associated Press that he was also surprised by the lack of security.

The 25-year-old was weaving a tense crowd, asking Kirk a question as someone about 50 feet away heard what sounded like a “explosion” fireworks. Then he saw Kirk’s head faint.
DeFries said the horror and panic of the stampede broke out quickly. Some attendees flew to nearby buildings and ran through the fountain to escape. The others avoided.

“People are absolutely scared of their lives. I can see it in their eyes. I can hear them. People are crying. People are screaming. It’s a nightmare,” DeFries said.
Devries walked to the turning point of the university student chapter table, where he prayed for Kirk with his members.
