Vice President JD Vance shared the right Conservative activist Charlie Kirkfatally shot dead while speaking at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. In a lengthy post on X, Vance respects his late friend with “courage,” “faith,” and profound loyalty.

“Charlie was one of the first people I wanted to call when I ran for the Senate in early 2021. From strategy to fundraising to the grassroots of the movement he knew, we covered everything.
Kirk is a long-time advocate for young people in the conservative movement, and Vance has been described as key in President Trump’s decision-making process in 2024.
Vance added: “When I became the vice president nominee, Charlie advocated Charlie for being by my side both publicly and privately… Charlie has been calling and texting, checking our family and providing guidance and prayer.”

He also emphasized the strong belief in Christ by both children, saying, “Charlie truly believes in and loves Jesus Christ. He has a deep faith. We used to be Dispute Catholicism and the correctness of Protestantism and the question of minor doctrines. Because he loves God, he wants to know him. ”

After the report was released Wednesday afternoon, the vice president said he spoke frankly with President Trump about Kirk.
“I talked to President Trump in the Oval Office today and he said, ‘I know he is your good friend.’ I nodded silently, and President Trump observed that Charlie really loved his family,” Vance said. “The president is right.”
“I was at a meeting in the West Wing when these group chats started to tell people to light up Charlie’s people they were praying for him. That’s what I learned about my friend being shot.”
“God didn’t answer those prayers, it’s OK. He had other plans. Now that Charlie is in heaven, I’ll ask him to speak directly to the big guy on behalf of his family, his friends and the country he loves.”

“My friend, you’ve had a good game. We got it from here,” Vance concluded.
Kirk said in a repainted video that he wanted to be remembered “for my faith, for courage.” For those who mourn, this legacy is exactly the way he will be remembered.
