Denver – Three teens were injured in a shooting at a high school in the suburban foothills on Wednesday DenverIncluding suspicious shooters, authorities said.
The shooting was reportedly around 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, about 30 miles away Denversaid Jackie Kelly, spokesman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
It is unclear what caused the shooting, or how the suspect shooter believed to be a school student was shot. Kelly said none of the law enforcement officers believed to have responded to the shooting fired.
She said the shooting happened on the reasons for the school, but it was not clear whether it was inside the school building. She said investigators did not believe there was any further threat to the community.
CEO Kevin Cullinan said all three teenagers were taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. The high school with more than 900 students is mainly surrounded by forests. It is about one mile from the evergreen center, with a population of 9,300 people.
More than 100 police officers from around Denver Kelly said the district rushed to the school to try to help. A 1999 school shooting at Columbine High School in Jefferson County killed 14 people, including a woman who died from complications earlier this year due to injuries to the shooting.

The parents of Evergreen High School students were told to go to an elementary school to reunite with their children.
“This is the scariest thing you think can happen, these parents are really scared, and the kids are scared,” Kelly said.

Wendy Nueman said her 15-year-old daughter, a sophomore at the school, did not answer her phone call immediately after the shooting, the Denver Post reported. When her daughter finally called back, it was from a borrowed call.
“She just said she was fine. She gathered her daughter and ran from school.
“It’s very scary,” she said. “We feel like we live in a little bubble here. Obviously, no one is immune.”
Resident Don Cygan told Denver’s kusa-tv. Cygan said a student said he heard gunfire in the school’s cafeteria and ran out of school.
Cygan, a retired educator familiar with lockdown training, prepares for possible shootings. He said his wife was a retired nurse who was able to calm the teenagers and shock them.
“I hope they feel like they’re running into the right house,” he said.
