French police Hundreds of protesters were arrested on Wednesday, and crowds closed the roads, lights lit and clashed with authorities as “all stops” demonstrations broke out across the country.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Interior, the Paris police reported that by the afternoon, 183 people were arrested and more than 100 other people were detained by police elsewhere in France.

The Associated Press reported that about 80,000 police officers were deployed in France on Wednesday to handle the protests.
