President Donald Trump He stopped Tuesday night at Joe’s seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab in Washington, D.C., to highlight the improvements in capital security under his administration, and encountered a rare public meal Tuesday night.
“We’re standing in the middle of Washington, D.C., and you know, the past year has been a very unsafe place. It’s very unsafe for the past 20 years,” Trump told reporters outside the restaurant. “Now there’s no crime.”
He added: “Restaurants are booming now. People are going to dinner for many years. It’s a safe city. I just want to thank the National Guard. We love working with the mayor and the chief, we all work together and the results are spectacular. Our capital is very safe now.”
During dinner, Trump faced left-wing protesters who shouted: “Free DC! Free Palestine! Trump is Hitler of our time!”

Trump is upset about the protests in the videos that spread.
This marks the first time Trump has eaten publicly in a restaurant Washington, DCuse any of his. Trump is accompanied by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President Judd Vance and War Secretary Pete Hegseth.
In a statement to Fox News, Erika Polmar, executive director of the Independent Restaurant Alliance, praised Trump for dining out and encouraged the president to propose policies to help the catering industry.
“The president’s first dinner in Washington, D.C. shouldn’t be his last dinner,” Polma said. “It’s never important for the government to recognize that restaurants and bars play an important role in communities across the country. The reality is tough. Bookings are lower nationwide, the costs are still high, and too many independent restaurants operate on Razor-sin-car-car-chingins.”

She continued: “That’s why we are working with the government to ensure fair implementation of new tax-free regarding tips policies and provide tax relief for everyone, including employees within and those compensated for service costs. Independent restaurants and bars are one of the largest employers in the United States and maintain more jobs in farms, catering companies, Benny, Florists, Florists, Florists, and suppliers.”
“There is more work to be done and we hope the government will continue to listen to independent restaurants and bars when it comes to developing policies to ensure people work, pay fairly and can grow their businesses.”
