NATO sends a harsh warning to Russia for violations of Polish airspace earlier on Wednesday Ukraine drones.

“Last night, drones from Russia violated Polish airspace. Our air defense measures were activated and successfully guaranteed the defense of NATO territory,” NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said on Wednesday. “The North Atlantic Commission met this morning and discussed the situation under Poland’s advisory request under Article 4 of the Treaty of Washington. Allies expressed solidarity with Poland and condemned Russia’s reckless behavior.”

He added that NATO allies were “decided to strengthen their support for Ukraine”, which had been fighting for more than three years.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy He listed the timeline of the attack in an article on X. He said the first crossing of Russian drones from Ukraine to Poland was recorded at about 12:50 on Wednesday at Kyiv Time.

“At least two Russian drones entering Polish territory at night use Belarusian airspace. In total, at least dozens of Russian drones follow the Ukrainian territory along the borders between Ukraine and Belarus and the borders of western Ukraine, obviously targets on Polish territory.” Zelenskyy said.

He added that as many as twenty dozen Russian drones could have entered Polish airspace, despite Ukraine’s efforts to verify the figure.

“Ukraine is ready to expand its cooperation with partners to reliably protect the sky. So we have not only sharing information and intelligence data, but also practical joint actions to keep the neighbors safe. Russia must feel that Europeans know how to defend themselves for themselves.”
