‘Block Everything’ protests and pigs’ heads roil France as Macron installs new PM

Paris – French authorities say they are preparing for possible acts of vandalism and other violence that could lead to the latest political crisis triggered by the collapse of the French government, as thousands of protesters are expected to disrupt the country’s online phone on Wednesday.

The “Bloquons Tout” campaign gathered Steam in the summer on social media and crypto chats, before François Bayrou removed the prime minister in a parliamentary confidence vote on Monday.

On Wednesday, it was called a day of lockdown, strikes, demonstrations and other protests now being the president Emmanuel Macron – One of the goals of the campaign is to appoint a fourth prime minister within 12 months. Outgoing Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu was appointed Macron’s latest new prime minister on Tuesday night.

Despite ostensibly nothing to do with planned protests, the five pig heads found on Tuesday (five of which were written in Macron’s name, five of which were written in the name of Macron, and five of them were written) were found to add uneasiness, which could be a sign of previously suspected Russian and Russian accidental attempts to vandalize acts that have been targeted against France and other Ukraines.

Paris Police Chief Laurent Nunez said that although the investigation is still ongoing, “we can’t help but connect with what happened before (often at night) that later proved to be an act of foreign intervention.”

He said the deposition of pig heads – near four mosques in Paris, and five mosques in the suburbs – seemed to be “conducted simultaneously by several people.”

French authorities describe other suspected Russian-Russian actions as part of a continuing effort to deliver discord, turbulent and false information. The coffins left near the Eiffel Tower – some draped on the French flag with the word “Ukrainian French Soldier” engraved on it – in 2024, French authorities were linked with Russian intelligence. Therefore, it was also an attack on the Paris Holocaust Memorial, which was hit by a blood-red hand.

The “lock everything” campaign has developed in the virus without clearly defined leadership, and it has broad demands – many targeted tight budget plans for the controversial belts, which Mr. Beiru advocated before his death – and broader complaints about inequality. On Wednesday, online calls for strikes, boycotts, lockdowns and other forms of protest were accompanied by calls to avoid violence.

French authorities said they are not sure how many people will attend on Wednesday. French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said there were peaceful protests: “There are other actions that could be more intense – lockdowns, possible acts of vandalism, potential acts of violence.”

Potential targets could include refineries, fuel stocks, train stations and loopways, he said.

The spontaneity of “locking everything” is reminiscent of the “Yellow Vest” movement, which shocked Mr. Macron’s first term as president. It began with workers camping in traffic circles to protest the rate hike of fuel taxes and had a high visibility vest. It spread rapidly to political, regional, social and generational anger at economic injustice and Mr. Macron’s leadership.

Fédérico Tarragoni, a researcher at the protest movement at Kane University in Normandy, said supporters of the “lockdown everything” seem to think that the protest march has no effect and are looking for more radical ways to attract Mr Macron’s attention, including lockdowns and other strategies, as well as other strategies both on yellow.

He said Wednesday’s protests will test Mr Macron and the popularity of the movement.

“It won’t be a riot…but it may be out of control,” he said. “It won’t be easy to manage with the police force.”
