This is the fifth consecutive year I have written about Apple for a year iPhone Eventand I never thought about buying the latest and greatest iPhone. Like my colleague Julie BortI’ve been waiting for the phone to be upgraded until absolutely necessary. but, iPhone Air Here comes. I want it.
Apple’s new iPhone 17 series is impressive That’s it in itself, but this generation of devices marks the first time Apple makes iPhone air. Like the MacBook Air, it’s a thinner, sleeker device that emphasizes the style of its technical specifications.
While I can appreciate the most advanced chips, what really makes me want to buy a new phone is that it looks cool. And boy, that’s the iPhone air is cool. In the announcement video, Apple shows off the phone while sitting delicately on someone’s finger, which is wider than the phone itself. It’s a cool visual that will make billions of dollars.

At first, I wasn’t particularly moved by the idea of the iPhone Air because I thought it had to be technically weaker than the iPhone I used to use in order to be so small. Also, the second second I saw its glorious slimness and I was worried I would put it on the sidewalk and destroy it (it was 5.5mm, or more than three quarters of the thickness of the stack).
Apple guessed that would be the way most customers respond. The iPhone Air shows off a beautiful video that illustrates its intensity. Compared to previous iPhones, the company says the screen is triple-resistant to scratches, while the rear glass is four times more resistant. In his speech, Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering John Ternus even claimed it was “more durable than any iPhone before.”
In terms of specifications, the iPhone Air also exceeded my expectations. iPhone Air actually has a more powerful processor and A slightly larger promotional display Compared to iPhone 17. Apple actually calls the iPhone Air’s A19 Pro CHIP “the fastest CPU in any smartphone.”
“This is the level of computing at the MacBook Pro level in the iPhone,” Tim Millet, vice president of platform architecture, said in the announcement.

The battery life of iPhone Air seems to be a drawback. Even this eye-catching phone can’t overcome its size, and some sacrifices are inevitable, right? No other iPhones are intertwined with the announced new Slim battery, which may be a necessary accessory, for an additional price of $99.
Apple says that with the battery, you can watch 40 hours of videos, but not 27 videos. For streaming video, the air can support 22 hours of playback without the extra battery pack, which is actually Same Battery life as last year’s iPhone 16.
While I don’t care much about the camera features of the phone – I’m still too stubborn to use the iPhone for my “serious” artistic endeavor, it’s worth mentioning that this phone (gasp!) has only one rear camera lens. This means there is no separate telephoto camera, although Apple says phones can still amp up large numbers with their own telephoto lens. However, I will do stylish designs on the extra camera lens, especially if the single lens is as good as other iPhone main lenses.

It seems too good. Can the iPhone Air really be a magical device that violates our understanding of hardware? Really small and powerful?
I won’t buy iPhone Air on the day of release. I’m too cynical to know from real people rather than Apple that this device costs $999. But if the reviews are good, well, I think I’ll use the cloud white finish on my new iPhone Air.
