On its website, Atari shows off a colorful portable device with a 7-inch screen, as well as a variety of ways to control games, including trackpads, trackballs, and even a numeric keyboard. Atari said the console will be bundled with 200 built-in games, including Pac-Man, Centipede, asteroids and steel balls. It includes a Wi-Fi connection, a USB-C port and about 4 to 5 hours of battery life, the website says.
The website also touts the “SmartGlow” technology, which lights up the portion of the controller to be used based on the game.
This is not the first time Atari has packaged its retro game library so new viewers can access them. Over the past few years, Atari has released its return version Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 Console. However, game play is the first Atari mobile console to bundle the game in it.
The console has an HDMI port, which can also be connected to a larger screen.
