“In 2018, when I lost the election, I was never confused about it,” Abrams said. “I talked to the community and I would say, ‘We won’, it’s just sending people into the paroxysmal of hatred. What I told them was: ‘Look, it doesn’t mean the title doesn’t mean we’re not making progress.’”

The former candidate often debates: “When you try to defend democracy, when you try to serve the people, progress is regarded as victory. Because their goal is your silence. Their goal is your complicity. Their goal is your conquest. We remain free every day. That is progress. ”

Abrams said that if Democrats define victory only by elections, they will continue to lose politically.

“But if we have to wait for this big announcement, like an election, and say ‘This is where we win’ we will continue to lose,” she said. “I said ‘Let’s look for small interfaces to master – the little moments we can make progress because that adds to the actual victory we are trying to achieve.”
