Google is expanding the AI model (its AI-powered search experience) to five new languages, after other users around the world open to access English only More than six months.
Monday, Google Announce Now, the AI model will support Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Brazilian Portuguese. The update was launched last month with AI-powered experience 180 new markets In English, initially launched in the United States and later expanded to the United Kingdom and India.
“With this expansion, more people can now use the AI model to ask complex questions in their preferred language while exploring the network more deeply.”
The AI model was first launched as an experiment with advanced subscribers of Google One AI. It is Google’s answer to AI search platforms, including Perplexity and OpenAI’s ChatGpt search. This feature takes advantage of a custom version of Gemini 2.5 with multimodal and inference capabilities.
In August, Google introduced the proxy feature in AI mode to enable it to find restaurant reservations and support the future of local service appointments and event ticketing plans. These updates are currently limited to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States and can be obtained through the “Proxy Features in AI Mode” experiment in the lab. The Ultra Tier is priced at $249.99 per month.
So far, Google’s AI mode can be accessed through dedicated tabs on the search results page and buttons in the search bar. The company appears to be working on making this AI-LED search experience “quickly” by default, Indicated By Logan Kilpatrick, group product manager at Google DeepMind, in response to user posts on X last week.
Google’s recent AI updates, including AI models and AI overview, have been criticized for affecting search clicks. However, last month Google Denied that its AI search capability is killing website traffic.
