A Florida recently stumbled upon a damaged ship while fishing And his grandson – He thinks it may be only 150 years old.
Thomas Peterson, a self-proclaimed “Florida Countryman” Fox 13 Tampa Bay He recently discovered that it was probably a 19th-century rum runner.
He found the ship stayed in Aripeka, a small community about 50 miles north of Tampa. The wreckage was found when the tides were low.
Peterson recalls: “I looked down and I saw the boat had this green thing going on… like a furry carpet.”
“My boy, they said it was a dock,” he added. “I said no, this is not a dock, it is a boat. I found history so cool.”

The picture shows the lightly visible wooden beams and planks in the soil of Aripeka. Shallow water also reveals long, parallel wood, suggesting the presence of a ship or ship.
“I fished there for 10 years with my grandson,” Peterson told the media. He caught the first big red fish there.”

Fox13 reported that local archaeologists were looking at the ship to verify its origins and then processed by Florida.

According to Florida Regulations 267.14, archaeological sites are protected by the “public interest” and can only be excavated by qualified archaeologists, anthropologists and historians.
