Daniel Jones It seems like playing for the Indianapolis Colts as he leads them to beat the 33-8 Miami Dolphins to open the 2025 NFL season.
Jones finished 22 of 22 passes for 272 yards against Michael Pittman Jr. The team’s starting quarterback.
Entering the season, Jones and Anthony Richardson are fighting for the starting role, with head coach Shane Steichen finally appointing Jones in Week 1 starter. Steichen hasn’t given Jones a short stretch of traction.

Jones showed on Sunday why using the Colts’ defense to force interceptions and a terrible defeat against Tua Tagovailoa and Dolphins’ offense.
Both turnovers brought touchdowns to Indianapolis. Jones went on strike at Pittman from 27 yards to a 10-0 score before scoring his first rushing touchdown in third and goals earlier in the second quarter to break the game.
The Colts added another shot at halftime to get it 20-0 in the game, while Mike McDaniel’s offense had little life.
Jones and the Colts burned for more than nine minutes, which didn’t help the Dolphins, using 15 games before the quarterback entered the finish area again. A 30-0 lead drew the crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium into a craze on the day they respected the late owner Jim Irsay.

Tagovailoa found De’von Achane made an 11-yard swing pass to score the team’s first touchdown this season. However, it was too late to make a comeback.
Jones spread the ball and Pittman led with six catches for 80 yards. Rookie Tight Ty Warren is also effective, with seven catches for 76 yards in his NFL debut.
Jonathan Taylor is his efficient self, with a total of 71 and 27 yards of receiving yards to improve the Colts’ offense.

Tagovailoa, on the other hand, scored 14 touchdowns and two interceptions in 23 yards while being fired three times. Tyreek Hill has four catches for a total of 40 yards, leading the Dolphins.
