Who has the national public data now?
NPD restarted under Perfect Privacy LLC, and the company sounds protective, but has nothing to do with the VPN service of the same name. Despite the new name behind the scenes, the business model has not changed. The website still allows anyone to look up personal data about friends, relatives or strangers under one name.

Although the NPD includes a disclaimer regarding the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), nothing can prevent users from misuse of this data when making decisions about employment, housing or credit.

Accuracy issues and data sources
According to the NPD, the data comes from public records, property ownership databases, social media and government agencies. The company claims to verify and filter this information to ensure it is accurate and up-to-date. However, users may find that the configuration file still contains errors.
Quick test searches show a mix of outdated and accurate information. The site struggles with the names of hyphens, but in other cases it brings up the correct details.

How to delete your information from NPD
If you do not want your information to be provided on the NPD website, you can request deletion directly:
- search Your name on nationalpublicdata.com.
- Open your contour and copy its URL.
- Visit nationalpublicdata.com/optout.html.
- Paste the URL to “Your profile link” site.
- Enter your e-mail Confirm deletion.
Remember that each profile requires its own request and confirmation email. Once submitted, come back within a few days to make sure your data is actually gone.
