Qualcomm’s driver assistance system Snapdragon Ride Pilot exist Electric SUV, providing no boost on-road driving, automatic lane replacement and parking assistance. The co-developed software stack announced today will be powered by Snapdragon Ride System-Chips and will make its official debut at IAA Mobility 2025.
The Snapdragon Ride Pilot is a driver-assisted system of level 2 or above, not autonomous driving, which means that when using these features, the driver will still be responsible for overseeing the movement of the vehicle and paying attention to the road.
The software stack structure is a series of layers that gather together to power autonomous functions. The first is 360-degree perception, which uses a camera-based visual stack to detect objects, interpret traffic signs and provide additional features, as well as provide parking assistance. The advanced context-aware driving layer combines rule-based models to plan and predict behavior in complex driving scenarios.
The stack also uses what Qualcomm calls security-first approach, which includes cybersecurity capabilities and enforces strict global automotive safety rules, e.g. and functional safety standards.
Snapdragon Ride Pilot is now available to all global automakers by Qualcomm, and the chipmaker says the system has been verified in 60 countries around the world with the goal of being available in more than 100 countries by 2026.
