Professional Football Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss has been focusing on faith, family and football. But after being diagnosed with cancer last year, Minnesota Vikings Great added another “F” to his list of priorities: Fight.
Moss, 48, was diagnosed with stage 2 cholangiocarcinoma and revealed in December that he had undergone major surgery to remove the lump. After six hours of surgery, as well as radiation and chemotherapy, NFL Great finally has no cancer.

“I’m nervous,” Moss said when he first learned about his diagnosis in an interview with ABC. “Good morning in America.”

“I just think that when you live your life somehow, you know, eating right, taking care of your health, and suddenly you’re diagnosed with cancer, like – I’m overwhelmed. There’s just a lot of bricks hit.”
Moss got rid of his role as an analyst at ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” but two months later he received an emotional reward. Despite his initial resistance, his wife who helped him continue to fight attributed it to him.

“I talk about my faith in the Lord, I talk about how much I love my family, I talk about the game I grew up with when I was a kid, and that’s football,” he said. “I put another ‘f’ in it in that category, and that’s ‘f’ because that’s what I need to do.”

Moss said he shared the same information with his long-term friends. Colorado Football Dalas Cowboys Legend coach Deion Sanders called him and shared that he was struggling with his cancer diagnosis.
“One thing my wife told me was, ‘Man, go out here and let your family love you. They miss you.’ He did it. [later] And tell me ‘Thank you. ‘” a mossy recalled.

Sanders revealed in July that he was diagnosed with aggressive bladder cancer, and his doctor said he was cured after removing the bladder. During a press conference, he shared his health update, and Sanders recalled his conversation with Moss.
“Randy Moss calls me every other day to make sure I’m straightforward,” Sanders said. “Randy Moss prays for me – he and his wife. Tell me what I need to do.”
