Russia once again rejected the idea of foreign troops stationed in Ukraine. This is because European leaders met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and held a joint telephone call with the president. Donald Trump.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday that any plan of foreign military personnel deployed to Ukraine would be “unacceptable” to Moscow, Reuters report.
“Russia will not discuss foreign intervention in any form or format, which is fundamentally unacceptable and undermines any security,” Zachharova told reporters.

The statement is in response to the remarks of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the delivery of European troops to Ukraine.
Russia is not a single person who rejects Von der Leyen’s comments, as Germany also expressed doubts about the proposal. “You didn’t discuss something before sitting down at the table with many parties that have a say in this matter,” German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius told reporters.

While the call took place Thursday morning, the White House did not issue any public statements about what was discussed or whether there was any progress in ending the war. However, Zelenskyy seems to think this is going well, as he thanked Trump in an article about the X conference.
“I would like to thank President Trump for his efforts to end this war and hope that the United States is ready to provide support to Ukraine,” he said. Zelenskyy wrote.

“Our same view is that Russia is working to delay the negotiation process and extend the war. Support for Ukraine must increase and pressure on Russia must intensify,” Zelenskyy said.
