Apple is preparing to disclose it iPhone 17 lineup next week However, there are rumors that major software updates are coming soon. The company reportedly plans to launch an AI-powered upgrade on iOS 26.4’s Siri, arriving as early as March 2026.
According to a report by BloombergApple is working on a new Siri feature called World Knowledge Answers, an AI-powered search tool designed to generate detailed responses drawn from web data, images, videos, and local information. Bloomberg wrote that Apple may be working with Google to test a custom version of its Gemini model for searching for parts of the tool. Apple’s own model will still process personal data and device context, while Gemini may support Siri’s new plan and aggregate features.
Apple and Google did not immediately respond to CNET’s request for comment.

While Siri will be the first app to get an upgrade, Apple reportedly plans to expand its search tool to future Safari and Postlight. The release is set to be launched a few months after next week’s iPhone 17 hardware launch, highlighting Apple’s efforts to separate its next big AI mobile from its annual device launch.
By adding AI-powered search to Siri, Apple will step into the same space as its fast-growing competitor Openai and confusion. The move shows that Apple intends to catch up with the generated AI competition and position Siri as a more direct competitor to these existing services.
