However, Democratic City Council Chairman Helena Moreno slammed Trump’s remarks and said in a statement: “Our crime and violence in New Orleans are unprecedented”, a blue city in a red state.
“It’s an attack on certain cities. There are many cities that maintain serious crime problems with the president, but are not targeted by the mayor,” Moreno added. “It makes it clear that it’s about intimidation tactics and public safety.
