First on Fox: House Republicans are promoting legislation to strengthen punishment for those who beat or obstruct immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) agents (ICE) Illegal immigration and criminal law enforcement.
Rep. Ashley Hinson of R-Iowa introduced the “Protection and Respect ICE Act” supported by Brad Knott of RN.C. and Diana Harshbarger of R-Tenn. The measure would have the greatest imprisonment and fines to be fines for assault, resistance or obstruction of ice sheet agents or employees.

A Hinson spokesman told Fox News Digital the bill was designed to block violence against anti-ICE protesters against federal agents.
Hinson tied the surge in attacks to progressive activists.
“Not standing together law enforcementthe radical left side has dangerous illegal aliens, and even want to strip the gears of ice to ensure they are safe. This is unacceptable,” she told Fox News Digital.
