Web Publishing Platform WordPress is introducing an early version of AI development tools, and CEO Matt Mullenweg has been described as “V0 or cute, but specifically targeting WordPress”, V0 and cute quotes are the popular “Vibe” Vibe encoding” service for using a “VIBE encoding” service based on rapid, timely software based on AI Interfaces-based. Mullenweg’s WordCamp US 2025 Conference Last week in Portland, along with other AI experiments.
In his keynote, Mullenweg briefly describes how TV allows users to create Gutenberg blocks, or modular bits that make up text, images, columns, and more that make up WordPress websites. He shows how a developer can use new tools to create a simple marketing animation.
Available on its own domain telex.automattic.aitoday’s telex is marked as “experimental”. To use the service, you can enter a prompt for the block of content you want to generate, which can be returned as a .zip file, which you can install as a plugin to your WordPress site or WordPress Playground. (The latter is a platform that allows you to run WordPress on any device without a host.)

While Mullenweg does emphasize that TV is still a prototype, he is optimistic about the potential of AI to perform WordPress tasks further over time.

The CEO also acknowledged that the advancement of AI could be a terrifying part of AI given the hype and the topic of AI that could be a bubble, but that didn’t overturn his excitement.
“Basically, there is a seed, and it’s so capable,” he said of AI. “Building for WordPress is an incredibly exciting time.”

Mullenweg also demonstrates another simpler AI tool that is built over an hour or two Contributors Daya WordPress Help Assistant is provided in the browser. He talked about his favorite AI browser – Confused Comet – This will allow users to interact with WordPress from their interface.
As for Legal drama Mullenweg has only provided a brief update over the past year or so. The company has been in dispute with hosting provider WP Engine, which Mulleweg claims is profiting from WordPress without sufficient contribution. He hopes WP Engine licenses the WordPress trademark for this, and he says customers are confused about its association with the company.
“The quick update is running in the legal system. We believe in the fairness of the courts,” Mullenwig said. “If there is any comment, I would just say there was a settlement meeting and I showed up; the other CEO didn’t. But that’s my only comment on the entire Rigmarole.”
