senator Tommy TubervilleR-Ala. Targeted Maine Gov. Janet Mills because he refused to ban trans athletes from women’s sports on Wednesday.
In an interview with OutkickDon’t @Dan Dakich and me“Tuberville has made fierce criticism of Mills for her hatred of President Donald Trump’s “No Men in Women’s Movement” executive order and her state’s refusal to comply with the executive order.
“so Maine Governorjust a total of – honestly speaking to the president of the United States, when he had said, “This is not going to happen,” she said, “Okay, I’ll take you to court,” he said, ‘I’ll meet you in court because I happen to run for the federal government,’ Tuberville said.

Maine has been under national scrutiny for allowing trans athletes to participate in women’s sports amid the state’s refusal to comply with Trump’s orders and recent incidents involving trans pole positions.
The quarrel between Trump and Mills began last Thursday when Trump vowed to cut funds to the state for refusing to comply with his orders in Washington.
Mills’ office made a statement on Friday threatening a legal lawsuit against the Trump administration if the administration withheld federal funds. Then, Trump and Mills held a verbal remark in the White House during a bipartisan gubernatorial meeting.
“Don’t you want to comply?” Trump asked Mills.
She replied, “I comply with state and federal laws,” in Trump said, “Well, we are federal laws” and “the best thing to do, it’s best to do that because if you don’t do that, you won’t get any federal funds. By the way, even if your population, even if your population is a little free, it’s a liberal, and although I did a great job there, you don’t want you to play male in the women’s movement, so you don’t want you to play anyone in the women’s movement because you don’t want any federal funds because you don’t want any integration.
Mills replied: “We will see you in court.”
Just a few hours after the interaction, the U.S. Department of Education announced that it will be Investigate the country Allow trans athletes to participate in women’s sports and potential Title IX violations. Maine is the fourth state, with the IX investigation into Trump’s orders since its signing on February 5.
California, Minnesota and Massachusetts are facing similar investigations, while several other Democratic-run states have refused to comply with Trump’s orders so far.
Meanwhile, Tuberville also co-sponsored a bill similar to the U.S. Congress’ order in Trump. Protection of women and girls in the Sports Act has been passed in the House, but has not yet received a vote from the Senate.
Tuberville hopes that the country can resolve transgender issues in the 2028 Olympics in a timely manner.
“What I’m worried about is that the Olympics have been held in Los Angeles for a few years in our country, and we don’t need it to turn it into a nightmare, it has to be men and men, women and women,” Toberville said. “But you know, this is a radical left that will try to make it a disaster, transition boys can’t compete with women. It doesn’t make sense, and under this president, it won’t happen.”
