Vera Miles is ready to be the next Grace Kelly – that charming Hitchcock blonde who goes on to marry the prince. It never happened, she prefers that.
The 95-year-old “psychological” actress is the subject of a new book by Christopher McKittrick, “Vera Miles: Escaped Hitchcock Blonde.” This book is the first full-length biography of “Steer Life and Career”.
McKittrick tried to get in touch with Miles, who had not been interviewed since the 1990s. He talks with those who work with her and has known her for many years. Fox News Digital commented with Miles.

McKittrick told Fox News Digital Alfred Hitchcock, “Master of Suspense”, and his muse.
“A lot of rumors about her are generally incorrect by public knowledge,” he explained. “People just keep repeating what they hear over and over. It was my biggest surprise – how much I know about her. But when I started doing the research, I realized I didn’t know much about her.”

The biggest rumor that McKittrick wants to solve is that Myers and Hitchcock died in 1980 80 years old.

“They’re definitely different in their relationship,” McKittrick explained, referring to Hitchcock’s 1958 thriller. “But there are a lot of rumors from a book called ‘Alfred Hitchcock: The Dark Side of Genius’ Donald Spoto in 1983 She did not accept an interview. He was sinister about their relationship…she talked about the book, saying that nothing was farther away than the facts. ”

Fortunately, she has a different experience than the filmmaker.
In 1983, when asked about Hitchcock’s alleged rash behavior, Myers described himself as Speaker review Being “a very simple woman”.

McKittrick said the first gossip started when Hitchcock was preparing to make Vertigo. At the time, Miles was about to be opposite James Stewart. But just before giving birth, Myers learned that she was pregnant with a third child. She was replaced by Kim Novak.
“There was a lot of speculation and confusion during that period because there were a lot of timeline changes and saying, ‘She quit the movie, Hitchcock was angry [with] She never worked with her again. ” McKitrick said.

The book points out that although there may be “controversy” between Hitchcock and Miles, This is far from “hate”. In 1964, Myers handed over the story to the Los Angeles Times.

As quoted by the book, she told the media, “I started to take root in my life.” “I never questioned whether it was wise to have four children. When I signed with Alfred Hitchcock, I had a third child and he was overwhelmed.
“He said, ‘With more than two kids, don’t you know the taste is bad?’ I think the charm is how many kids you have.

She added: “He told me it was bad to have more than two kids. I considered his advice and had four.”

According to McKittrick, Miles values family more than just becoming famous. He described how she later played more TV roles, and compared to the movies, she could get close to the kids.
“Vera Miles’ choice has influenced her career and I find it encouraging,” McKitrick said. “Today we hear a lot about ‘work-life balance’. It’s the buzzword, especially after the pandemic, it’s Vera Miles [didn’t] Usually thought of that time. She made many movies, Appears on more than 200 TV shows. but. . . It’s very important for her to stay rooted and be with her family. ”

“There are many opportunities like ‘Vertigo’,” McKitrick shared. “She passed on them because she was already doing work closer to home, or it would put her too far from her family. She was committed to being a mother regardless of the professional cost.”

Miles’ last position was “Independent Life” opposite Linda Hamilton, Jim Belushi and Elisabeth Moss in 1995.
“We know, fortunately, she’s still with us,” McKitrick said. “I sincerely hope she’s Spend time in California Very happy with her family and friends. I hope this book will help stimulate more appreciation of her work.
