In 2017, Geyser pleaded guilty to Payton Leutner’s violently stabbed first-degree intentional homicide, but claimed she was not responsible for any reason due to mental illness. She told investigators that she tried to kill Leutner to please the slim person in the horror character and was eventually acquitted for psychological flaws.
The Geyser’s defense team and the state’s prosecutors did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
“There are high standards for crimes because of crimes, because of crimes, because of crimes,” Dr. Gail Saltz, associate clinical professor of psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College, told Fox News Digital. “The standard is a identifiable disease that affects your ability to understand what you do is wrong and that you have the ability to understand that. No matter how old it is, it is true. So, it’s a high standard.”

Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier were 12 years old when they lured Leutner to a wooded park during an overnight stay in May 2014. Encouraged by Weier, Geyser stabbed Leutner 19 times.

Geysers have been in custody at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute for the past seven years. She was initially sentenced to 40 years in a psychiatric hospital and was allowed to consider conditional release every six months.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Health officials asked Bren to reconsider, citing the geyser’s relationship with a man who collected murder souvenirs. Prosecutors also said Geyser failed to inform her treatment team of a violent book she was reading.
Geyser’s defense attorney Tony Cotton refuted the claim, telling the court that the center staff knew the collector visited Geyser three times in June 2023 and that she only read books allowed by her nursing team. Cotton added that she broke the item after the geyser discovered that the man was selling the items she had given him.
“Morgan is not dangerous today,” said Cotton.

Pollen also listened to testimony from three psychologists who initially suggested a geyser release at a hearing in January.
While the obvious interest of geyser in the subject of violence involves prosecutors, experts say some may attract the material that provides a controlled way to indulge in pathological curiosity.
“It’s a grey area in a sense, and many people read violent material as a way to engage and think about this fantasy material,” Salz said. “Horror movies exist because many people have the urge to be sadistic and masochistic to satisfy by reading or watching this material.”

However, agency officials believe that geysers still pose a danger to the community and feature “Rent Boy,” a book themed on the black market with murder and selling organs.
Prosecutors told Bohren they believe it was because the geyser reportedly disclosed the information only when facing her nursing team.
“Frankly, frankly, these things are just red flags at this point,” Vauxa County Deputy Attorney Abbey Nickley said at a hearing last month.

While pathological curiosity may be normal for some, experts believe those with violent pasts may be affected by material about their crimes.
“Thoughts are not equal to behavior,” Salz said. “With that being said, [with] The people who commit the behavior, we do worry, will eventually increase their urge to actually do their real things [want] Doing and leading to behaviors that are considered problematic. ”
Despite the state’s request to institutionalize the geyser, Bren is sure she no longer poses a danger to society. Her next court appearance is scheduled for April 28, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
