Police found her 7-year-old daughter drowned in their bathtub after a van Nuis woman was arrested late Friday.
The mother, who was not identified in the mid-30s and was described as her only person, was arrested at the scene of the 6800 block of Sepurvida Avenue. David Cuellar, a public information officer for the Los Angeles Police Department, said no incidents occurred.
Cuellar said officials responded to the scene around 5:40 p.m. and found that the victim was a 7-year-old girl who “had no response in the bathtub.” According to Cuellar, the child had no other obvious harm.
The woman has not made a formal reservation as of Saturday morning and the case has not been introduced to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Who is her defense attorney is not yet known.
