She added: “This person is an illegal criminal who violates our country’s immigration laws. He is the leader of the cruel MS-13 gang and he is involved in human trafficking.”
She continued: “Now, MS-13 is a designated foreign terrorist organization. Foreign terrorists have no legal protection in the United States of America. Moreover, this administration will continue to expel foreign terrorists and illegal criminals from the Ministry of the Interior of our country.”
Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin posted to X on Tuesday to further detail the allegations against him.
“The person in question is a member of the cruel MS-13 gang – we have intelligence reports that he is involved in human trafficking. Whether he is in El Salvador or in the US detention center, he should be locked up.”

According to NBC News, Abrego Garcia’s lawyers believe he was deported, with no due process and no solid evidence that he is a member of the gang.
