Chris Swecker, attorney and former assistant director of the FBI’s Criminal Investigation Division, told Fox News Digital that he believes Ibarra will be deported.
“If we could send him to a prison in El Salvador and he would rot in pain, then I would give it all.”
Ibarra is currently sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted of a substitute trial in February. A hearing on the matter is scheduled to be held on June 6.

“The Ibara case…that thing is radioactive,” Swick said. “They will find the legal basis for deportation.”

As for the El Salvador Prison, a terrorist lockdown center that can accommodate up to 40,000 prisoners, it is unclear whether Ibara was eventually deported.

Meanwhile, Ibarra’s older brother, 29-year-old Diego Ibarra, had ties to the Venezuelan gang TDA, was sentenced to a forged green card and served four years in federal prison when Jose was arrested for Riley’s murder.

His younger brother, Argenis Ibarra, 25, was sentenced to time sentence after pleading guilty to one count of fraudulent documents in December 2024.
Rosbeli Flores-Bello, the brother’s female roommate, and 29-year-old from Venezuela, was sentenced after pleaded guilty to one count of possessing fraudulent documents in December 2024.

The Justice Department said all three defendants will be sent to ICE for deportation. Diego Ibarra will face deportation after a four-year federal prison sentence.
It is not clear whether any defendants will be taken to El Salvador, as only Diego apparently has a TDA relationship, according to court documents.

“As for his brothers, they should never be in our country,” Moore said of Diego and Argenis. “If our borders are protected, Laken Riley will still be alive today with other innocent Americans. I stand 100% with President Trump in the fight to protect our country and get rid of these violent criminals.”

“I commend the Trump administration and Pam Bondi’s Justice Department for following and getting Lake Riley’s killer’s immigrant friends out of our country,” he said. “Joe Biden ships these Tren de Aragua Thugs to Athens and the real leaders send them back where they come. If I had my way, each of them would have lived in prison with Jose, they deserved it.”

U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg recently ordered an immediate cessation of deportation efforts, so he could have more time to consider whether Trump is illegal to use the Alien Enemy Act.

“Even if the imprisonment in El Salvador does not deprive its status of imprisonment citizens, it is still illegal under Trump’s own touted First Steps Act,” Lauren-Brooke Eisen, senior director of the Brennan Center’s judicial program, said in a March 12 analysis.
