A Republican senator vows to oppose certain actions of the Trump administration, even if it means risking billionaire-funded opposition movement Elon Musk.
R-Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski previously claimed that actions taken by the Government’s Department of Efficiency (Doge) could lead to “incredibly disturbing” results, suggesting that Musk could “take the next billion dollars he received from Starlink as Starlink and deal with me directly”.
“And you know what could happen. But I didn’t give up for a minute, a chance to try to stand up for the Alaskas,” senatorHis tenure has risen in 2029, he said in a conversation with Alaska voters on Tuesday. “I want to accept criticism.”
Merkowski also advised other MPs to choose to “dang” rather than oppose the government because of fear of being respected in the next election.

“That’s why you let everyone blow the zipper, not say a word, because they’re worried they’ll be knocked out, they’ll be occupied, they’ll get names in the media,” the senator said. “Do you know what? We can’t say or not.”
Merkowsky has been criticizing Trump administrationopposing the presidential draft picks responsible for the Ministry of Defense confirmation, Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Republicans also oppose Trump and Vice President Judd Vance after a fierce meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.
“This week began with government officials refusing to acknowledge that Russia launched a war in Ukraine. It ended with a tense and shocking conversation in the Oval Office, and the White House whispers could attempt to end all U.S. support for Ukraine,” Murkowski wrote on X.
“I know foreign policy is not for the faint of heart, but now, since the government seems to be moving away from our allies and embracing Putin, it is a threat to democracy and American values around the world.”

The billionaire responded to the report released to X, proposing suggestions about his potential participation in future Republican elections, saying in a November 2024 article: “There are other ways.”
“Until the Alaska people tell me, Lisa, that’s just not working anymore, I’m going to give you every last breath, I’m going to do my best to solve all the small problems, and when I feel the need to speak, I won’t compromise my integrity by evading my own words.”
The senator said that despite her disagreement with Trump, she will find a “constructive” way to work with him.
