Exclusive – this Biden gives medicine According to a copy of the findings, the final report, which has been buried for more than a year, failed to demonstrate that the increase in U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminals is associated with a meaningful impact on greenhouse gas emissions.
The Biden administration has delayed the release of information, and senior Trump administration officials told Fox News that numbers have been delayed in sharing data with Republicans in the House Oversight Committee.
The impact of new U.S. liquefied natural gas exports on the environment, U.S. Department of Energy scientists and federal contractors reviewed the economy, who completed their work in September 2023 and prepared a draft final report.
Fox News independently reviewed a copy of the study’s draft titled “Energy, Economic and Environmental Assessment of U.S. LNG Exports.” The report and its findings are scheduled to be published in 2023 – President Joe Biden, who was still seeking reelection, announced a suspension of all new U.S. LNG export terminals in January 2024, to better consider environmental and economic impacts.

Trump administration officials said that in all modeling situations, the increase in U.S. LNG exports and natural gas production has not changed global or U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, nor has it been associated with rising energy prices for consumers.
“Celebrity Secretary Granholm and the Biden White House told Americans that the increase in LNG exports will disproportionately increase prices for American consumers and the environment,” an official said.
“Both statements refuted the Biden administration’s hiding Congress and the American public in the report. ” said the official.
A copy of the report is shared with the House Oversight Committee, which has been asking the Department of Energy to share its findings on LNG since March 2024.

The 2023 survey results list the clearest data to date, namely the Biden administration and then-energy secretary Jennifer Granholm, misunderstood the impact of liquefied natural gas exports on the United States
At the time, Biden faced growing criticism from party progressives to reduce liquefied natural gas exports, which rose to an all-time high during his tenure. After Russia’s war in Ukraine, the United States became the world’s largest energy exporter in 2023, supported by new EU demand, and it almost suddenly cut off all pipeline gas supplies from the group.
To alleviate deep energy security concerns, the U.S. has increased exports to Europe to record highs, providing more than 50% of liquefied natural gas, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
This triggered a fierce push from progressive Democrats, including Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore).
However, instead of submitting a report, the Biden administration continued to suspend the publication of research and refused to comply with the House Oversight Committee’s request to testify or share their findings.
This is far less than the data finally released by the Biden administration after the December 2024 election, suggesting that rising exports could lead to consumer prices rising by as much as 30% in the coming years.
This has sparked backlash from two industry groups and Republicans who exaggerated the study to be exaggerated and did not justify the government’s 10-month pause.
