President Donald Trump Sunday Activate the National Guard Tornadoes and strong winds tore through several states over the weekend, with at least 37 people dead.
Strong winds tore the heart through Saturday, threatening Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma tornadoes, destructive buildings and houses. Northern states, including South Dakota and Minnesota, face warnings of snowstorms.
“We are actively monitoring severe tornadoes and storms that affect many states in the South and Midwest – 36 innocent lives were killed, even more devastating,” Trump said in a post on Sunday X.
“The National Guard has been deployed to Arkansas and my administration is ready to help state and local officials as they help their communities try to recover from the loss. Please join Melania and me in prayer for everyone affected by these horrible storms!” the president wrote.

The National Guard tweeted that its Arkansas officials will “support civil authorities that provide security and humanitarian assistance in tornado-affected communities in central and eastern Arkansas.”

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders It was said that there were about 50 National Guards and 40 state policemen on the ground in Arkansas on Sunday.
“When you drive through this community, you see a lot of neighbors coming out and taking care of each other,” she said in a video posted to X. “One thing that makes you so proud is seeing neighbors helping neighbors, and today we have never been more realistic than that in this community. We have about 40 state policemen in this community that have taken 50 National Guards in the county.”

In an article on X, Sanders said she spoke to Trump on the phone, who “says to tell the people of Arkansas that he loves them, and that he and his administration are here to help everything we need.”
Dakota Henderson, a Missouri resident, told the Associated Press that he and some others helped rescue their neighbors trapped under the rubble Friday night and found five bodies in the process.

“The casualties of the people last night were really disturbing,” Henderson told the Associated Press on Saturday.

The evacuation was ordered Friday in certain areas of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and New Mexico.
Strong winds caused wildfires in the South Plains, and severe storms and tornados can also occur in Panhandle in eastern Louisiana, western Georgia, central Tennessee, western North and western South Carolina, and western Florida.
