“What they did yesterday was timid. Fighting with 65% of Americans, they think we need to have an education department,” she said earlier in the discussion. “The fact is that education is done at the local level. State government, state education departments, local school boards. That’s the people of education. We believe that, we want it. But that’s what the federal Department of Education does. This is the opportunity agent. This is the balancer.”
She said the department helps provide children with certain disabilities with reading experts, making students occupational therapists, Pell Grants, etc.
She continued: “I think every child should have exercise. I think every child should be experiential learning so that they can do that and I can keep moving forward.”
